Aiden Singh

Biography

Aiden Singh (derived from the Sanskrit siṃha meaning 'lion') is the CEO of the Lion group of enterprises, a real estate investor, global equities trader and investor, prediction market trader, writer, interviewer, and the founder and publisher of the Social Science Encyclopedia.

Real Estate

He is the founder and CEO of Lion Residences, a New York City-based residential real estate management company.

Prediction Markets

Aiden was a prediction market trader and has written about exploitable inefficiencies in the prediction markets which, coupled with leverage, allowed him to double his capital in a single set of trades.

Financial Markets

He is currently a global equities trader & investor.

He predicted the surge in the price of crude oil above $100/barrel from 2020-2022. Additionally, he exited the position before its subsequent fall back below $100.

He also anticipated and shorted the stock market crash of 2022. He is the author of three forthcoming articles on this market crash: The Meme Asset Frenzy, which details the inflating and bursting of a bubble in meme assets, Shorting A Speculative Bubble: Notes For My Future Self, which discusses the mechanics of shorting a bubble in practice, and a third as-yet untitled essay which discusses how he detected the presence of a bubble and the implications for economic methodology.

Writing

Aiden has written over 70 articles on economic and political philosophy, economics, finance, constitutional law, and history.

Evidence of Prediction Market Inefficiency From PredictIt’s 2020 U.S. Presidential Election Markets

I argue that persistent and exploitable pricing anomalies were present in PredictIt’s 2020 U.S. presidential election prediction markets. I claim that these pricing inefficiencies were the result of a subset of market participants acting on misinformation which erroneously led them to conclude that Donald Trump had won the election. I conclude by discussing the implications of traders struggling to correctly distinguish relevant information from misinformation for the efficient market hypothesis.
